BA has 59+ athletic offerings available for boys and girls in grades 6 through 12. Participation in athletics is required for each student at BA as we live out the commitment to our mission to nurture and challenge each whole person – body, mind, and spirit – to the glory of God.

BA: EXCELLENCE IN 

ATHLETICS

With a long history of excellence in athletics, BA holds more than 120 individual and team state championship titles, as well as ten national title. BA athletes are not only skilled in their sport, but they are also disciplined. Currently, 82 BA alumni are competing at the collegiate level, and 12 alumni are competing as professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, and the Australian Soccer League.

STATE OF THE ART FACILITIES

 

THE ROCK

Our 20,000-square-foot Athletic Fitness Center, known as the Rock, opened in the fall of 2006 on the west side of campus. In 2021, the fitness center received significant upgrades thanks to generous donors giving to our "Forward in Faith" vision for Brentwood Academy. The Rock is now home to a 10,000-square-foot weight and conditioning room featuring 24 in-laid power rack platforms with Eliteform Technology. Eliteform is a dual-camera system that provides a personalized training program for each student-athlete, tracking their velocity, power, and work output. Trainers then utilize video playback for teaching and assessing.

 

FOOTBALL STADIUM

Our football stadium is home to Carlton Flatt Field where the BA Eagles football team plays under the Friday night lights. The school's founder, Bill Brown, famously had the stadium built with fan stands on only one side of the field to visually represent the idea he held that we are never "us versus them." Instead, we all cheer for our teams together. This sentiment is reflective of the heart behind BA athletics. 

4 X GYMNASIUMS

Four gymnasiums located across our campus serve our basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams. The Kennedy Gymnasium is the largest of the group and is located in the Upper School.

 

BASEBALL FIELD

Brentwood Academy's baseball field was built in 1994 by Paul Compton, BA's first baseball coach. The fields were moved from their original site when BA built the middle school facilities. In the 2010 Nashville floods, BA's baseball fields were the only ones to remain open due to the special drainage system under the field. Along right field is the BA student section where Eagle fans gather to cheer on their classmates.

TRACK AND FIELD

The BA track and field events are housed within the football stadium near Carlton Flatt Field, with dedicated space for field events such as shot-put, discus, pole-vaulting, long jump, high jump, and more. 

 

1.5 MILE NATURAL COURSE

Our Cross Country teams practice on the 1.5 mile natural course located on BA's campus. For longer runs, the teams practice at Edwin Warner park.

SOCCER PITCH

BA is known for its soccer pitch. The quality of the grass has become a hallmark of the field making it a practice destination for traveling professional soccer teams. 

 

TENNIS COURTS

BA has six tennis courts located in the heart of campus with access to the quad. 

 

SOFTBALL FIELD

BA has a dedicated softball field where our team practices and plays in the spring. 

DUG-OUTS

BA's fields offer dug-outs for the team to practice, strategize, and recover during games. 

WRESTLING GYM

The Ray Dalton Wrestling Gym is located upstairs in the Rock along with a secondary basketball gym. 

MIDDLE SCHOOL GYM

The middle school has its gymnasium located off the middle school entrance. Here is where our middle school basketball and volleyball teams practice and play. 

WEIGHT ROOM

The fitness center is now home to a 10,000-square-foot weight and conditioning room and features 24 power rack platforms.
